化学者の起業
1873年9月6日、若き化学者Dr. Heinrich Byk はベルリンで起業し、商業登記簿番号7595で会社を登記し、現在のBYKを設立しました。「Dr. Heinrich Byk, 化学工場」では、ヨウ素塩、臭素塩、ビスマス塩などの商業化学品や医薬製剤を製造していました。
1898年だけでも16の新製品を発売しました。BYKは多様な国際的ビジネス関係を確立し、今世紀に入る頃には南アフリカに製品を輸出し、中国から原材料を輸入しました。
創業者で化学者のHeinrich Byk (1845–1923)
Heinrich Byk氏の研究成果のおかげで、同社は瞬く間に業界の重要なプレーヤーに成長しました。この化学者は生涯で75の特許を取得しました。1906年に彼が会社を引退したとき、化学工場はベルリンとオラニエンブルクの2つの拠点に120人以上の従業員を擁していました。
