このような溶剤系塗料用の特別な添加剤として、BYK‑SILCLEAN 3700があります。反応性水酸基含有シリコーン変性ポリアクリレートで、表面活性により塗膜表面に移行します。第一OH基を持つため、架橋反応をする多くの塗料配合（2液型ポリウレタン、アルキドメラミン、ポリエステルメラミン、アクリレートエポキシ、エポキシフェノールなど）のポリマーマトリックスに添加することができます。このようにして、添加剤は塗膜表面に恒久的に留まり、シリコーンによってもたらされる特有の表面特性も、屋外暴露時を含めて、より恒久的なものとなります。
BYK‑SILCLEAN 3700は、塗膜表面に疎水性と撥油性を同時に発揮させることで、汚れの付着を抑え、洗浄性を向上させます。屋外での使用も含め、耐水性が向上し、白化（白化現象）が防止されます。
BYK-SILCLEAN3700は、落書き防止やテープの剥離性を向上させるためにも使用できます。さらに、BYK‑SILCLEAN 3700は、基材への濡れ性、レベリング性、表面のスリップ性も向上させます。水系では、BYK‑SILCLEAN 3720を使用することで、同様の特性を得ることができます。
