マーケティング会議の回想録
1999年9月13日、BYK最大のイベントが始まります。「Together into the next Millennium.次のミレニアムを共に創ろう」をモットーとするグローバル・マーケティング会議です。この会議のハイライトは、Wesel の Abelstraße に建設された新しいラボ棟の開所式です。約2,500万ドイツマルク(当時）を投じて、 BYKは3,400平方メートルの研究エリアを建設し、ラボのスペースを倍増させました。
新棟の一部には、現在自動車業界で標準となっている静電塗布システム（EStA）も設置されています。BYKでは、お客様の課題をより的確かつ体系的に把握することができるため、ラボの従業員は添加剤をより具体的に開発できるようになりました： ここでは、塗布方法に対する自動車用塗料の配合品質を実用的な条件下で試験することができ、EStAを使用して自動車用塗料を最適に塗布することができます。
会議の締めくくりは、約3,000平方メートルのパーティー・テントでの盛大な祝宴。「大規模な催しでしたが、それだけの価値がありました」と当時のBYK社長は振り返ります。「社員はBYKの一員であることを誇りに思っていました。」
