《化学物质注册和评估法》（又名K-REACH）于2015年1月1日生效。K-REACH规定，化学物质的制造商和进口商必须提交在韩国销售的化学物质的危害筛查和风险评估信息。需要注册、申报或豁免的物质依据是否为新化学物质以及制造进口量进行分类。
根据K-REACH法规，所有制造或进口的新化学物质（未列入韩国现有化学品清单的物质）和每年1吨或以上的既有化学物质必须进行注册、申报或豁免。对于1吨或以上的既有化学物质，需要完成（后）预注册才能获得宽限期。
