BYK-024
BYK-024 is a VOC-free defoamer based on a combination of silicones and hydrophobic particles and offers a very good balance of effectiveness and compatibility. This and the fact that it is easy to incorporate have made it a popular and widely used additive. It is particularly suitable for many different aqueous systems and a wide variety of applications and is often used as a starting point for formulation. It also can be used in some food contact applications*. BYK-024 can be added at any time during production, even retrospectively (post-addition), or distributed over different production steps in order to adjust the system optimally.

BYK-093
The VOC-free, silicone-containing defoamer BYK-093 can be used universally and is therefore ideally suited as a standard defoamer and starting point in the formulation of aqueous systems. Due to its extraordinary compatibility, it hardly causes any surface defects such as cratering or haze formation. BYK-093 can be used in both pigmented and non-pigmented systems and is particularly recommended for modern binders without co-solvents, which form the basis of VOC-free or low-VOC formulations. BYK-093 is storage-stable and also supports the long-term stability of the finished system at both high and low temperatures, is easy to incorporate, and suitable for all common types of application.

BYK-1630
Mineral oil defoamers are established and widely used additives due to their good efficiency and cost-effectiveness. They offer an excellent price-performance ratio, especially in water-based emulsion paints and plasters and in adhesive dispersions. BYK-1630 is a further development of classic mineral oil defoamers that contains a small amount of a very compatible silicone to increase its efficiency. As a result, the additive has a very good defoaming effect in a wide range of systems. In addition, BYK-1630 is highly stable in storage compared to conventional products on the market and shows no separation.

BYK-1640
BYK-1640 is a versatile, odorless polymer defoamer for aqueous systems. Chemically, it is based on a polyamide particle technology that meets the demand for economy and environmental compatibility at the same time. BYK-1640 is silicone- and mineral oil-free and especially suitable for VOC-free systems. Hence, it is highly recommended for the production and application of emulsion paints and plasters in a PVC range from 30 to 85. BYK-1640 has a spontaneously defoaming effect and prevents micro foam, too. BYK-1640 shows optimum performance even at very low dosage levels, is acid- and alkali-stable and can be used at pH values from 3 to 12.

BYK-1740
Environmentally friendly and bio-based products are gaining importance in industry worldwide. BYK-1740 is a very effective defoamer based on renewable vegetable oils that can replace finite raw materials such as mineral oil. It is odorless, non-yellowing, and has good storage stability, both as a raw material and in the finished formulation. BYK-1740 meets the requirements of various international eco-labels, has approvals for food contact applications*, and is also particularly recommended for emulsion paints with a PVC of 40 to 85 and for emulsion plasters.
