BYK Netherlands

With the acquisition of the Dutch company CERA Chemie in 1991, BYK expands its product portfolio to include wax additives. These are versatile all-rounders that are used, among other things, in paints, printing inks, paper and leather coatings and cleaners.

In the following years, BYK expands rapidly in the Netherlands: In 2011, a new production plant for micronized wax is built in Deventer. There, wax is pulverized into particles just a few micrometers in size. In 2013, BYK Netherlands starts producing additives for glass fiber production. The third Dutch site joins the BYK Group in 2016 as a result of an acquisition: In Nijverdal, plastic masterbatches are produced for coloring or modifying the properties of plastics. Today, around 200 employees work at three sites. BYK Netherlands celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022.
