BYK USA

Wallingford in the state of Connecticut is a picturesque community with typical New England charm. This is where BYK USA opens a production site that is manufacturing 44 coating additives and 28 plastic additives in the mid-1980s.

The additive business in the USA started very modestly in the mid-1960s: with just one man and a suitcase full of BYK samples. Yet by 1976, BYK USA achieves a record sales volume of 1.4 million US dollars with an extensive network of representatives.

Today, BYK USA is an essential part of the company with 550 employees and five plants. BYK recently invested around 70 million US dollars in the expansion of the Gonzales site. The new plant will produce up to 60,000 tons of additives per year.
