Regulatory requirements and growing health concerns are challenging the use of conventional flame-retardant formulation and driving the need for alternative solutions.
Halogen-free and other non-halogenated flame retardants (HFFR) have been available for some time, but they now face higher performance expectations, particularly in critical applications such as wire and cable insulation.
Flame-retardant synergists, such as clays (e.g., bentonite and montmorillonite), are known to improve the effectiveness of various flame-retardant systems.
BYK additives like CLOISITE-20 A, BYK-MAX FR 4145, and BYK-MAX CT 4260 improve char formation and reduce dripping during combustion due to their synergistic effect in combination with several flame retardants.
In the web meeting we will show the performance of our flame-retardant synergist and concentrates, evaluated by using test methods such as UL 94, mechanical- and electrical- measurements.
